Can I dictate to my IPhone and send the files to my transcriptionist?

The Quick Answer is..  yes! 

To do this you’ll need a recording app on your iPhone to capture the dictation.

There are many apps out there (see the list below) but for professional dictation www.voiceautomated.com recommends Voxie Pro Recorder & Dictation by Bottle Rocket or Dictaphone by Polar Bear Farm.

Anytime you talk about recording your voice to be transcribed on a Smartphone, there are a few things to remember. Does the device have a good microphone? How will the device transmit the recorded file when complete, and will the file be transcribed by using back end speech recognition – higher quality recordings needed.  In addition, if you are a doctor or lawyer you will most likely want this application integrated into your EMR or document management system.
