One of the doctors I transcribe for wants to start using Dragon SR. Does anyone have any ideas about how to work with this software, I do not want to loose this client.

Hello Brad,

If you are an independent transcriptionist and the physician/s you transcribe for want to start using Dragon Medical you will be able to quickly learn how to correct a draft document created by Dragon.
Your physician can send you a recording -that recording can be recognized by Dragon Medical to produce a draft of the document.  If you are using Microsoft Word you will see the text that was recognized and be able to listen to what was said simultaneously. In this way you will easily be able to verify that what was said is what was typed on screen.
If the word/phrase is mis-recognized then it can be corrected using the correction feature in Dragon Medical.  By making these "corrections" the physicians’ user profile will be less likely to make that error in the future.
Now that the document is correct it can be put into the correct format with the correct headers footers and other formatting required by the medical practice.
A very useful workflow software you may be interested in for this purpose is called Transcription Aid.

There are a number of good training CDs/DVDs for this application; or may I suggest that you consider partnering with a Dragon Certified Partner in your area...it should create a win/win for you....ed.www.ngtmedical.com    -    edwardatngtinc 8/21/2010 6:10:11 AM | Flag

You won`t lose the client. The dictation needs a ton of editing. It is never 100%.

Such a sad, sad career choice so many years ago. It was some crazy-good money back in the day. I don`t know anyone else that works for years and the pay goes down!!! I`m about ready to fire up a new service like the olden days....any grabbers????

BTW, I HATE voice recognition as well. If it is a Must-Do....I`m done!
