8/2/2010 5:43:34 PM I'm currently using Dragon 10.1 Preffered, and am considering moving my FileMaker database over to Access, in order to make it more dictation-friendly (I am a historian, and I use a database to manage all my archival photos and research notes). FileMaker is not "select-and-say" enabled, and it seems like Access is somewhat more friendly - at least it has Select-and-Say capabilities within text fields. I've done some preliminary trials, but I'd like to know what the possibilities and limits are on using Microsoft Access with Dragon. Is it necessary to upgrade to professional? Are there any third-party add-ons (Knowbrainer, other command sets) that enhance the functionality? I have some scripting ability, but don't want to re-invent the wheel. |

Michelle, Access isn't terribly Dragon-friendly. I often write scripts using Data Access Objects, but rarely address Access directly. The few customers I have that use Dragon and Access have a clunky time of it. You don't have to upgrade to Professional, but you do if you want to write scripts for Access. |
